What is coaching?

ICF defines coaching as partnering with them in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. This definition covers the principals of what coaching is about and implicit in this definition is the reality that for many clients, coaching is the process of working through and finding long term solutions for the issues that are holding clients back from achieving their goals and maximising their potential.


Do you do face to face coaching or is it all online?

We offer both face to face and online coaching. Online coaching is typically through Zoom. You can get a sense of how the online coaching works through our complimentary introduction.


What length of time is a standard coaching session and what is the frequency of the coaching?

Coaching sessions are always specific to our client’s needs. A standard session is one hour and other options can be discussed during the initial coaching session.

The frequency of the coaching session varies. The factors governing this range from the type of goal or issue being brought through to our client’s own deadlines. The question can be explored during the thirty-minute coaching conversation that we offer as a complimentary introduction.


How will life coaching help me?

A coach can help you achieve your personal and professional goals. Working with the process of significant change can take time and it is important for your life coach to be transparent in regard to this. There are also times when a one-off session of coaching brings together all the threads you need to be able to gain the clarity you want. Every client and their experiences are unique.


What is the difference between coaching and counselling?

There is quite a lot of debate about the differences between coaching and therapy. The key difference is that coaching is future orientated with a strong focus on goal achievement.


How much does it cost?

The right coaching programme will be different for each client and if after an introduction session you are interested we can look at options to suit your coaching expectations.


Will my information be confidential and kept safe?

All coaching sessions are confidential between the client and coach in line with the EMCC code of ethics. Data on our clients is also maintained in accordance with the EMCC ethical guidelines.
